December 2014

Eight years ago, a 16 year old girl walked through the doors of the Parent Life ministry center. She was broken, hurting, angry, confused...and pregnant. If you ask her today, she will admit the only reason she came was for the free food and diapers we give out each week. But somewhere along the way after many ups and downs, late night phone calls and tearful conversations, God began doing something amazing and beautiful in her life. He began breaking down the walls she had built and started putting the broken pieces of her heart back together again. He was drawing her to Himself, filling the emptiness her soul longed for as only our Creator can do.

In October I had the privilege of bringing a now 24 year old Devin and her husband Mike to the Youth for Christ regional conference in Nebraska. There they were able to share their stories with other young leaders from across our region and meet the president of our organization, Dan Wolgemuth, and
many other amazing men and women of God who are loving and serving youth in their cities. Since then, they have both become mentors at Parent Life
where they can reach out to teens who are in those same broken, lonely and confused places they once knew so well!

"From a life ravaged by lies to a soul healed by truth."

My heart is so full of joy to see amazing transformations like Devin’s that only God can do in a person!  It is because of your faithful prayers and generous giving that over 50 teen moms, dads and their children have found a safe place to hear and experience Christ’s love at Parent Life Lubbock in 2014. Thank you for being a part of the laughter, love, and life changes! Please consider adding us to your year-end giving and your continued prayers.

May you be blessed with a wonderful Christmas and New Year!
